23.5

I ordered a new case for my iPad 2. Who knows when it’ll come in. I’ve seen pretty crazy shipping complaints on their Facebook page. Hopefully it’ll be worth it. Supposedly better than the DoDo case. Who knows – guess I’ll have to wait about 6 weeks to find out. The big thing I’ve been missing from my original iPad and Apple case is a place to clip my stylus. That’s my big issue w/ the new cover for the iPad 2.

iPad Apps – My List

Whenever people get a new iOS device, the  first thing they usually ask is “What apps should I get?” Here’s my list:

Instapaper to Read it Later

I have a lot of news feeds in my Google Reader account. I use Reeder for Mac, iPhone, and iPad to view all these feeds. One thing I’ve been doing for a long time is sending articles that I didn’t have time to read at the time to my Instapaper account. Pretty nice, but since I get bored easily with a perfectly-working setup, I tried Read it Later today. I really like the Digest feature. It’s like a specially-formatted page of my items. It even categorizes the items into sections (design, news, business, etc.). So far, I love it. It is nicer looking than Instapaper.

Marimba is Like Papyrus

Ok, so I absolutely hate Papyrus. Everyone knows that. But I heard someone using the Marimba alarm sound. Ok, so that to me is like Papyrus. Take a few seconds, and pick another sound.

Oh, and while I’m at it, I’m not too keen on all this keyboard clicking noise being left on these iPhones. I guess that’s what we get opening up the iPhone to the millions of Verizon users.

Custom Fields

Ok, so Blogo comes through again. This time in the form of adding custom fields in the editor. Some of these fancy shmancy new WordPress themes use custom fields to achieve greater control over how information is displayed. I was wondering how Blogo would handle it. I guess pretty easily. :)

Palm Pre to get its own ?App Catalog?

Palm

Not sure how many Palm devices are left out there. I’ll try to find device market share somewhere. In any case, it looks like another mobile manufacturer is realizing the benefit of an app store. One of the things I always liked about my Treo was that I could always find an app to do almost anything I needed. It was actually sort of hard to go to that 1st gen iPhone – till I discovered Jailbreaking.
